Christmas shopping

Order of the Parisian magazine to give a playful air to traditional Christmas shopping.

Demo photo for the placement of objects.

As usual to do the achievement fairly quickly with this time constraint of the object.
Tell a story is one thing, but also put the value object is another.

The figures become more discreet, giving objects a real landscape.
Thanks to Delphine, Airy and Mathieu for having supported me during shooting.

Pizza HuTT

You’ll eat of Star Wars for more than a month now before the long-awaited a new episode release. The Minimiam so clings to the outer train tribute to films that have become true icons of popular culture.

We have often said that our images aroused something from our childhood. It’s a playful aspect, which is of course no exception to children, especially to my daughter, who two months ago, submits me a simple idea: “you know, Dad, the ships of the empire, they look a bit like pieces of pizza. You should do something with your figures.”

This famous idea needed to be action, history. A duel between Yoda and Darth Vader seemed the most emblematic.
Brilliant, dazzling idea even! As for simplicity, is something else.

Realize the characters of the famous saga at this scale is much longer than I would have thought. Yoda on this scale is smaller than a fly.
Princess Leia here is a pizza delivery and Chewi in ambush behind the crust.

As the title suggests, the famous brand of Pizza with only one T in his Hut, to served as a model for the ship, because just as American as film production, one might wonder if George Lucas wasn’t a fan of the franchise? For those who are not familiar with the Saga, in the third episode (years 1983, return of the Jedi, become the episode VI.) the villain Jabba the Hutt is an antagonist become essential although not present in the saga.

As well, as all science fiction film, photo does not escape “special effects”, which take more time than shooting in post-production it even.

For purists, excuse the duel between Vader and Yoda, it never took place.

That appetite is with you!

Slice of Jump or a tribute to Gary Larson

Years ago, I did a small article about Gary Larson, an Illustrator, particularly bright for his sense of humor and his short stories in one, two or three pictures.

All these years I wanted to honor him and picking up one of his hilarious story below:

I had found a food to make, but in the end it was not as funny as the drawing. So I left the idea aside until we find a simple ellipse to translate this joke.

In the end, an old photo should have put me on the track (more soft will be falling) and so the jumper Kangaroo found a food in line with its nature.

Article about Gary Larson (FR).

More soft will be falling picture.

Ikura

The Ikura is the Japanese name for salmon eggs.
The ikura is a delicacy enjoyed with a good rice, and who is as simple as supremely delicious.

For a long time I had the idea to make a meeting between visitors from space thinking that salmon eggs were their cousins (the transparent sphere of the egg makes me think of a spacesuit to the Tintin’s adventures on moon).

I stumbled on the idea for a long time, because that’s not enough to tell a story that is apt, even if offset and the invention brought by science fiction allows us usually to… do anything.

This is where knowledge of Akiko were precious! She directed me to a brand of canned salmon typically Japanese, very popular: AKEBONO. The tin box is beautiful. So I had the vehicle and the reason for the visit!

The salmon boxes are found in France, and we warmly thank Kumi Shimizu for the purchase and the sending of several boxes.

The title of the image is “Mother Ship”.

Thanks to Clement and Masumi and the TSUBAME (Paris 9th) restaurant for the loan of a magnificent centuries-old Cypress Board that served as a base for the landing of the Akebonospace adventurers.
